Women and Youth play a significant role in the achievement of sustainable development and food security in Africa. They contribute significantly to farm labor and food production in rural economies. In spite of these, they have often faced gender-based discrimination, limiting their full potential. Empowering women and Youth in agriculture is essential for the following reasons:

• Educating them towards modern day farming practices and technologies.

• Indipendent decision making about their farming land and what produce to grow.

• Owning financial indipendence and making crucial decisions for the family unit.

• Having a platform for their voices to be heard locally and internationally.
